My holidays in Phuket

Updated: Mar 29, 2020

I never thought about travelling to Thailand... but why? I don't know!

For this year's travelplans I wanted to try out something new (if you consider this statement of mine in the future - forget about anything I have said... - I made way too many plans already in the future) :-).

Via Globetrotter I have booked an eight-overnight-stay in Phuket. ...and I need to commit: why did I waited so long to experience this country? I still don't know...

My holidays started in Zurich, where I get on the airplane by Singapore Airlines via Singapore and with SilkAir to Phuket. Yes, there is also a direct flight but when I do have the possibility to fly Singapore Airlines, I'll catch that chance!

Arrived in Phuket I got escorted directly at the arriving gate to get my luggage and the fastest way possible to my driver to get to the hotel.

Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas - my new spot on heaven.

It lies on the northern tip of the island of Phuket, 15min away from the airport (never heard any airplane - no worries!).

I have booked one of their "lagoon pool villas". A gorgeous spot, my own villa and the biggest highligh: my own pool! But I need to admit: I was also out at their main pool during the day, too. Within my room category I had the luxury of an own villa host. Malee was a charming person and for my stay she was my "personal assistant". She handled all kind of reservations or requests I've had during my stay.

During my stay Malee arranged a day tour for me to experience the outside of my resort. At least to feel like a typical tourist for 1 day only. James Bond Island - been there, done that. It was okay to have seen it, but it was okay to get back to the hotel. The coneoing part at least was fun and a great getaway.

During the other days at the resort, you found me either sunbathing at the main pool or at my pool, cycling around with their bicycle, having a drink at their Treehous or enjoying dinner with a beautiful sunset at one of their restaurants. It sounds relaxing - it was relaxing at every second during my stay!

Unfortunately everything has an end, so did this stay. Again with SilkAir via Singapore and with Singapore Airlines to Zurich I flew back home... it was an incredible stay which I hopefully won't forget!
